Egypt excavations in Tell el Retaba
Photos from a trip to Egypt for excavations at the Tell el Retaba site. In Ramessite times there was a fortress defending the way from the Middle East to Egypt. I did not see the pyramids, nor did I photograph the Sphinx. For 10 days I worked on a rescue excavation in the midst of road works. There were photos of the site from the air and from the ground, as well as several pictures from the surrounding area. Nearby there was a bazaar, shops and a school. The excavations were led by Sławomir Rzepka and a team from the Institute of Archeology of the University of Warsaw. In addition to excavation works and kite photos in Retaba, Wiesław Małkowski also made geodetic and geophysical measurements.
